New York Fashion week through the eyes of Taper Me Bad.
What better Valentine's Day gift could a girl ask for? My beau, & co-owner Sean gave me the unselfish gift to enjoy a weekend experiencing what I love- Fashion!
Create the life you want- that's what I'm learning as I go, & as I watch other's close to me just go for it.
Kicking off the weekend, I was invited to friend, & jewelry designer, Lauren Olivia's debut showcase of her Spring 2015 collection for DollCirca1930:
Held in a quaint gallery in Soho, I played photographer for the night as I simultaneously admired the bright, intricate 'Wearable Art.'
Inside Lincoln Center
The next morning I woke up with butterflies in my stomach and the Biggest Smile on my face.... I'd received invites weeks back to designer shows, which I truly couldn't believe were official, until I was 'scanned' in.
I was headed to Lincoln Center!
The Fashion week crowd embodied everything I'd imagined. Busy, diverse, chic, over-the-top, exclusive, trendsetting.... all with a nonchalant 'I was born for this' attitude.
I have to admit, I more than loved my outfit- didn't even do a mid day change. A couple of the pieces will be featured with Taper Me Bad, coming soon.
The First show I attended was Mongol.
This show started a few minutes late, so I had the chance to get settled, & do some people watching- which was almost as good as the show- this audience put on it's very own custom fashion show before the show started:
Walking to my 11:00 invite, I had this overwhelming feeling of walking through a dream... if everyone I knew that loves fashion this much could only experience this electricity & excitement.
Whatever brings you alive, whatever your 'fashion week' moment is, Go for it! Ask- you might get it; Try, & try harder; you may just get there. Learn life lessons through experiencing; you'll be amazed at what comes your way when you imagine and attract what you desire.
The next runway collection was by designer-singer duo Mark & Estel; it had a more pop-rock, casual vibe- complete with a mini concert at the finale
Before cabbing it over to the next event, I snapped a few shot's beside E's Live Broadcast/Fashion Police setup.... well, because it's E!
A definite change of pace, that evening brought us to a Male Presentation in SoHo by Urban street-wear brand, Control Sector. The clothing had a very structured, yet semi over-sized look to them; and with ASAP Mob blaring in the background, the overall vibe was very 'New York hip hop':
Loved Every single minute of it.
That was the evening... my night consisted of 10,000+ steps in booties in un-godly cold temperatures, and a small event at a Bedford-Stuyvesant (Yes, Bed-Stuy) Brooklyn local gallery.
The event was called 'Art-Star,' in honor of All Star Weekend:
Saturday consisted of partying and fashion. Oh, & food... can't forget food.
Can I fast-forward, & give you a quick snapshot of the end of my day? Legendary 'Everyday People' Day Party Hosted by Chef Roble, where we met our lovely friend, Jazmin- fellow entrepreneur & innovator. Had such a blast that we decided to skip our last invitation.
Ok, Rewind. Our first invite wasn't until 3pm, so why not grab food? Heading to the Chelsea area, we stopped for donuts, then arrived at an incredible brunch spot called Sotto 13, for bellini's and a bangin' breakfast:
After brunch, we walked to the BabyGhost presentation, which was nothing less than a dope collection of walking 'art.' The details in these pieces.... *insert amazed face
Until next time!
