A trailblazing woman with grace, power, & influence- she doesn't need to do much talking to make a statement.
Possibly why we've developed a slight obsession with half Senegalese-half French, London based icon Julia Sarr-Jamois.
Head turner? Absolutely. Loose basics, unexpected statement pieces, & ringlets of wild spiraled hair define her effortless, bold style. Busy outfits brought to life by the air of confidence she exudes regardless of what she's wearing.
Not only is this doll a style icon who gives us serious 'closet envy,' but she's breaking ground by turning her passion into a thriving career. Known most for her vivid, eye-catching street-style, she's beyond #Tapermebad worthy:
Julia is a major influence in her field, as she's risen the ladder by letting her love for fashion build into a sustainable position of power. As top stylist, and current fashion editor of UK indie magazine Wonderland, the former Diesel model started in the industry young. This has always been something she's known she wanted to do, as she didn't let her lack of University training hinder her natural styling, and editing abilities.
Typically running around, Ms. Jamois enjoys pairing sneakers with her looks- a perfect mix of comfort and original style. In a sit down with Barney's New York, she states:
"I don't think too much about what I'm wearing."
Her five minute routine doesn't allow for makeup, nor provide time to tame her lovely locks- a 'naturalista' at her finest. This is one of the things we love most about her- she's not confining to anyone's standards of beauty; nor limiting her ability to excel in the fashion business world.
One of Julia's favorite designers is Balenciaga, which she's rocking below in one of her looks from the Barney's shoot:
"I love the fantasy element of fashion," & how it's ever-changing.
Here are a couple of glammed up shots of Julia expressing herself in her own, Wonderland Magazine:
We'll leave you with some of the classic fashion tips shared a while ago with Topshop, which still hold true today:
Bold Statement shoes always define an outfit, Layer & Clash, and lastly, invest in accented accessories. (Words sincerely from Ms. Julia Sarr-Jamois- follow her here)
